Dr. Joye Weisel-Barth will present on the concept of “futurevision” in psychoanalytic treatment. This program is provided at the intermediate level to clinicians of any orientation interested in or practicing relational psychoanalytic work.
Focusing on Atlas’ new book Emotional Inheritance, this CE presentation will discuss the ways in which trauma is transmitted from one generation to the next and held in our minds and bodies as our own. Atlas will examine emotional material that we unknowingly carry with us: the memories, feelings, and traumas that we inherit from previous generations and the link between our parents and grandparents’ history, and our own emotional struggles.
Dr. Tummala-Narra, a Research Professor and Director of Community-Based Education at Boston University, will speak on the topic of engaging with racism and xenophobia in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and supervision.
